It took so long to choose a name for this pub, that it was almost called simply "No. 5" – kind of like Robert Wagner's No. 2 moniker in Austin Powers. Yes, it was the 5th Little Pub to open its doors, and for everyone who wished for a place south of Colfax minus the ubiquitous meth-laced clientele, it was like a dream come true. If you live within 10 blocks of Cheesman Park, then you've been to Wyman's (or you are on meth, and not welcome).

Wyman's is the name of this particular Denver historic district, by the way. I know that was bugging you.

Wicki runs this place like you would run your own bar – if not for all those restraining orders, felonies, and other baggage that would prevent you from ever getting a liquor license. They are cool – cool like the other side of the pillow. I dare you to come in and not come back again – soon.

Wyman's has real pizza ovens – inherited from a prior tenant and built into the vision from the get-go – and makes some really great 'za. The small thin Bar Pie pizza is obscenely great, with a crispy crust that is reminiscent of matzo. The deep dish pizza is a pure mozzarella Chicago-style that is crazy good. TIP: When you call to order takeout, tell your wife they said 20 minutes even though Wicki told you 30 minutes. You deserve a cold can of Old Style while sitting at the bar for one quick round.

Best Booth: The "makeout booth" (hidden to the right when you walk in) offers enough privacy to have a scorching dice game, tell your friends about your great new invention without being overheard, or maybe get to 2nd base. Beyond that, get a room, Lindsey Lohan.

Wyman's is also a great place to play Liar's Dice. Ask for some cups and your server will give you the lowdown (Dice Rules).

Open 7 days. M-F 2pm-2am, Sat and Sun 11am-2am

Other stuff: Pool tables, Silver Strike, PGA Tour, Foosball, Liars Dice (Dice Rules), walk to Botanic Gardens

Neighborhoods served: Wyman's Historic District, Cheesman Park, Congress Park, Capitol Hill, Uptown, City Park
